MHEA offers two unique and special homeschool graduation ceremonies.
KINDERGARTEN GRADUATION CEREMONY
Kindergarten Graduation Coordinator
Denise Turner
The annual MHEA Kindergarten Graduation is a ceremony to celebrate our youngest children's achievements, while also ushering them into their "official" start of school. Our celebration includes a morning practice which concludes with lunch. In the evening of the same day, the actual ceremony is held where the children march into the sanctuary and up on the stage wearing the traditional white cap and gown. Each student is presented their diploma by a representative of MHEA. There are special songs sung and a keynote speaker inspires and entertains both children and parents alike. It is a sweet, moving ceremony.
NOTE: All graduating kindergartener's families must be MHEA members.
SENIOR GRADUATION CEREMONY
Senior Graduation Coordinator
Tonya Richard
MHEA hosts an annual Senior Graduation. It is a traditional cap-and-gown ceremony, with the parent(s) joining their students on stage as diplomas are distributed. Each year a highly significant Keynote Speaker provides outstanding encouragement for our young adults as they proceed to their next stage in life. There are performances by highly talented seniors as well as special recognition for those with special accomplishments. Members of the MHEA Honor Society wear a special gold drape designating their academic accomplishments. The MHEA Outstanding Students are recognized as well. There are several other awards distributed and this wonderful tradition is a delight to all.
NOTE: To participate in the Senior Graduation, families of students's participating in the ceremony must be members of MHEA for the graduate's entire junior and senior years. Exceptions to this policy will only be granted after consideration by the MHEA Administrative Board. Further information on this policy will be available during the first parent/student graduation meeting.
